Fayetteville Policies and Procedures 200.1
Computing Resources Use and Allocation
The campus computer and network resources are not generally limited by allocation of resources. There are policies listed below that encourage appropriate use according to the needs of the students, faculty, and staff. Historically, there were allocations of resources and "charge backs" of real or allocated funds. That approach was replaced by the "library model" that allows clients to use the resources according to their needs and applicable UA policies.
Disk space for various computing needs is allocated as follows:
- Comp server (used for personal web site development and applications)
- MyDocs (file share for personal storage)
- Faculty/Staff e-mail quota
- Student e-mail quota
- Access to High Performance Computing (HPC) resources is available by request. A faculty member may submit a request to the Arkansas High Performance Computing Center for the evaluation of applications and project scope for use of HPC computing and storage resources.
Desktop Security
Symantec AntiVirus software can be installed at no cost on any university or home computers owned by registered
