Non-Resident Tuition Scholarship for Students with $4,000 University-Based Scholarships

• This program is available to non-resident (for fee purposes) full-time (12 credit hours or more) undergraduate students, effective with the 1989-90 academic year.
  
  
• To qualify for this scholarship, the students must have been awarded and accepted university based and controlled scholarship(s) designated for, and in at least the total amount of $4,000.
  
  
• Students reclassified as residents will forfeit this scholarship.
  
  
• This scholarship is not available to students receiving employee or employee dependent fee adjustments for the semester.
  
  
• Freshmen with a 3.60 or higher cumulative high school GPA and a 26 or higher ACT (1170 SAT combined math and critical reading) from any state, who have received a $4,000+ U of A scholarship, will receive a board policy non-resident tuition scholarship, paying 90 percent of the difference between in-state and out-of-state tuition. Students with a 3.30 or higher cumulative transfer GPA, who initially enroll as transfer students, will receive a board policy non-resident tuition scholarship, paying 90 percent of the difference between in-state and out-of-state tuition.
  
  New freshmen from any state with less than a 26 ACT and 3.60 GPA or new transfer students with less than a 3.30 cumulative transfer GPA (or current students who receive an award as upperclassmen) who qualify by earning university scholarships totally $4,000 or more, will receive a board policy non-resident tuition scholarship, paying 80 percent of the difference between instate and out-of-state tuition.
  
  Current students who receive a $4,000 scholarship for the first time as upperclassmen and who do not already have a non-resident tuition scholarship will receive an 80 percent board policy non-resident tuition scholarship.
  
  
• The scholarship will be awarded by the Academic Scholarship and Financial Aid Office when the total of University-based and controlled scholarships reaches $4,000.
  
  
• The University will not disburse cash from this award, as the award will only be applied directly to the student's Tuition account (i.e., a check will NOT be issued from this account.)
  
  
• The board policy non-resident tuition scholarship for students with at least $4,000 in University-based scholarships will be awarded in any semester in which the student qualifies.
