Tuition and Fee Adjustment Policy for Official Withdrawal

The tuition and fee adjustment dates are determined by the Treasurer’s Office. All official withdrawal tuition and fee adjustment dates will be published and made available on the academic semester calendar.

The University of Arkansas withdrawal policy only applies to students who withdraw from all university classes during the semester, not to students who selectively drop classes and remain enrolled at the university.

Deans and department heads should encourage all professors and instructors to publish syllabi for all courses taught in their departments, allowing students the opportunity to preview those classes (books required, number of tests and exams, number of papers required) and make an informed decision before the start of the semester.

For purposes of this policy, a class day is defined as each weekday that the university is open for business during the session whether or not the class meets on that day.

Official Withdrawal

Students who withdraw from the University of Arkansas are entitled to the following adjustment, less an Administrative Withdrawal Fee. This fee is not charged during the summer sessions. All withdrawals presented before the first day of classes will not be charged the Administrative Withdrawal Fee.

Sessions Lasting 11 Weeks or Longer

100% adjustment of tuition and fees before the 6^th class day
75% adjustment of tuition and fees from the 6^th class day to before the 11^th class day
50% adjustment of tuition and fees from the 11^th class day to before the 16^th class day
25% adjustment of tuition and fees from the 16^th class day to before 21^st class day
0% adjustment of tuition and fees from the 21^st class day to the end of the session

Sessions Lasting At Least 5 Weeks, But Less Than 11 Weeks

100% adjustment of tuition and fees before the 4^th class day
75% adjustment of tuition and fees from the 4^th class day to before the 7^th class day
50% adjustment of tuition and fees from the 7^th class day to before the 10^th class day
25% adjustment of tuition and fees from the 10^th class day to before 13^th class day
0% adjustment of tuition and fees from the 13^th class day to the end of the session

Sessions Lasting Less Than 5 Weeks

100% adjustment of tuition and fees before the 2^nd class day
75% adjustment of tuition and fees from the 2^nd class day to before the 3^rd class day
50% adjustment of tuition and fees from the 3^rd class day to before the 4^th class day
25% adjustment of tuition and fees from the 4^th class day to before 5^th class day
0% adjustment of tuition and fees from the 5^th class day to the end of the session
