Finance and Administration Bridge Document
Administrative Title Alignment and Organizational Interpretation
At the present time, the duties and oversight functions conducted by the Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration under university policy are assigned to other senior officer roles.
Except as stated below, for purposes of interpreting existing Fayetteville Policies and Procedures references to the following administrative titles—whether used individually or interchangeably—shall be understood to refer to the Senior Associate Vice Chancellor for Finance and CFO (AVCF):
- AVCF
- VCFA
- Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration
- Vice Chancellor of Finance and Administration
- Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration (VCFA)
- Associate Vice Chancellor for Financial Affairs
- Chief Financial Officer
However, certain policies fall within the purview of the Senior Associate Vice Chancellor and Chief Administrative Officer for Campus Services (AVCS). The chart below indicates which position shall exercise the authority ordinarily designated to the VCFA.
Additionally, references to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Human Resources shall be interpreted as referring to the Senior Associate Vice Chancellor of Human Resources.
Organizational Unit Name – Finance and Administration
The organizational unit housing finance, administration, and human resources services for the campus shall retain its general administrative structure and shall continue to be known as the Division of Finance and Administration.
Policy Title Alignment and Administrative Role Bridging
This bridge document maps references of legacy administrative position titles in existing U of A policies to current administrative titles following recent personnel appointments and organizational realignments.
The intent is to preserve the substance and authority of each policy while providing clarity on how role‑based references should be interpreted under the current organizational structure.

- Where appropriate, administrative title changes are handled through interpretive bridging rather than policy redlines and updates.

Additionally, for purposes of FPP 900.0, Code of Computing Practices, the functions of the VCFA shall be exercised by the Interim Chief Information Officer.
For purposes of FPP 402.1, Background Checks, the approval role of the VCFA shall be performed by the relevant Vice Chancellor in consultation with the Senior Associate Vice Chancellor for Human Resources.
For clarity, the following policies have been updated for the time being to reflect the university’s current administrative roles.
