Half-Time Status for Graduate Students
Based on federal requirements, six hours constitutes half-time status for graduate and law students for financial aid. Financial Aid loans cannot be released to graduate students enrolled in less than six hours.
For tuition and fee purposes, the Graduate School considers graduate students to be halftime when carrying a load of 5 or 6 hours. Students are charged on an hourly basis through the twelfth hour for the Fall and Spring semesters. All Summer session enrollment is charged by the hour.
