Payroll Deadlines and Leave Payout at Termination
Deadlines for semimonthly payrolls (hourly paid in arrears and salary paid current) can be found on the Payroll Services website under the Quick Links section by viewing the Payroll Calendar. This includes deadlines for regularly scheduled pay dates in addition to on demand payment requests.
If the university terminates an employee’s employment, then accrued annual leave shall be paid out within seven days of the next regular payday, consistent with state requirements (Ark. Code Ann. § 11-4-405) and university policy, unless another statutory deadline applies.
If an employee terminates their employment with the university, then accrued annual leave will be paid out consistent with university policy as follows:
- If the termination is entered, approved, and effective between the1st and the 15th of the month, then accrued annual leave will be paid out with the end-of-the-month’s semimonthly payroll.
- If the termination is entered, approved, and effective on or after the 16th of the month, then accrued annual leave will be paid out with the following month's mid-month semimonthly payroll.
